Dear foreign friends:

In response to the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region activated the highest-level (level one) public health emergency response on January 24, 2020. Liuzhou has set up a leading group for joint prevention and control of the epidemic at the first time. Liuzhou has coordinated and organized all forces and resources and made every effort to carry out epidemic prevention and treatment. On February 2, the headquarter of the leading group issued Order No. 2, announcing stricter prevention and control regulations. Liuzhou Foreign Affairs Office hereby proposes the following to all foreigners in Liuzhou:

    一、关注官方信息。请积极关注“柳州市卫生健康委员会”(http://wjw.liuzhou.gov.cn/)网站发布的疫情防控相关信息,也可致电柳州市外事办公室24小时电话:17777265126 或 13647802025,我们将及时回应您的关切。

        I. Follow official information. Please follow closely the information published on the official website of Liuzhou Health Commission (http://wjw.liuzhou.gov.cn/). If you have any questions, please call 24-hour helpline at 17777265126 or 13647802025 (Liuzhou Foreign Affairs Office). We will respond to your concern in a timely manner.

II. Strengthen self-protection. Keep good personal hygiene habits by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing and washing hands more frequently with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer. Keep your rooms clean and maintain good ventilation. Avoid contact with wild animals or birds. Reduce consumption of cold, uncooked or undercooked food. Consume thoroughly cooked food and drink boiled water.

III. Minimize outdoor activities. Avoid crowded places, and reduce group activities such as gatherings and dinners. Please wear masks correctly when going out. Medical surgical masks are preferred. If you have mild to severe respiratory symptoms of fever, cough, breathing difficulty or fatigue, please go to the designated hospitals with a mask on.

IV. Stay at home and inform your employer or local community staff as soon as possible if you have visited seriously infected areas or had contact with those coming (or returning) from these areas to Liuzhou. If the community workers or medical staffs ask about your health, please provide them with information in a timely manner.

Liuzhou is our common home. Let’s join hands for the prevention and control of the viral pneumonia and safeguard the health of all Chinese and non-Chinese citizens in Liuzhou.
